Commitment Period

This Agreement is co-terminus with the Euromonitor Passport Agreement. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to the end of the Agreement Period.

Eligible Institutions

Higher and Further Education and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, and to Universities and Colleges of Further Education in the Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with Eduserv’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Eduserv will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

Research Monitor is a reference database that has been designed specifically for libraries. A subscription offers users a cost-effective introduction to Euromonitor’s industry and country research.

Research Monitor will contain 5,500 industry and country market reports and statistical datafiles. In addition, there is timely analysis including daily and weekly articles and opinion pieces on new and emerging trends from industry and country experts. Coverage is global. There are market reports across 25+ consumer industries for 80 countries and statistics for 210 countries.

Updates

Different types of content are updated at different intervals and timed throughout a 12 month period. There is annual data and reports that are updated on a rolling schedule. In addition there are industry reports that are updated weekly and monthly.

All additions and new functionality will be incorporated at no additional charge.

Training and Training Materials

Each subscriber is assigned a personal account manager who can deliver online trainings to all authorised users. In addition there are ‘how-to’ videos located in the database than illustrate how to effectively use the system. Euromonitor also provides ‘how-to’ and ‘quick-start’ guides in Power Point and PDF format.

Terms and Conditions

The Chest Order, together with the Licence Terms and Conditions, and any exceptions listed below, create a legally binding contract between your institution, organisation or company and the Licensor. Therefore please read the terms and conditions carefully and only submit a Chest Order if its terms and conditions are acceptable to your institution, organisation or company and you have the authority to make the financial commitment shown.

Licence

This Site licence is subject to the terms and conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Online Resources. Amendments to these terms and conditions are shown at the bottom of the page.

What can authorised users do?

The resources can be used for Educational Purposes – defined as:

  • education
  • teaching
  • distance learning
  • private study
  • academic research
  • administration and management of the Licensee’s educational or research operations

Exclusions:

  • See the the bottom of the page for any exclusions and restrictions
  • The resources may not be used for anything other than Educational Purposes unless the Licence Extension for Commercial Projects has been bought; this allows use for the restricted “Commercial Projects” defined – see Annex B of the Licence (Licence Extension for Commercial Projects)
  • Downloading of large amounts of material by authorised users that might be considered ‘systematic’.

Termination Clauses

Subject to any Fee shown on the Website, the Licensee may retain an electronic copy of the Licensed Material in its archives for reference only. Copies of parts of the Licensed Material already made and/or used by the Licensee or Authorised Users in accordance with clause 2.2 may be retained and used in accordance with the terms of this Licence Agreement – see Licence Term 10.5

Archive Rights
Upon termination of this Licence Agreement only copies of parts of the Licensed Material already made and/or used by the Licensee or Authorised Users in accordance with clause 2.2 may be retained and used in accordance with the terms of this Licence Agreement.

Opt out rights and notice period
If the Licensee’s budgets are significantly restricted subsequent to committing to the original term, then by giving the Licensor and Eduserv not less than ninety days’ prior written notice. Such notice MUST be conveyed in writing via email to help@chest.ac.uk not later than 31 December 2016 and 31 December 2017 otherwise they will deemed to be continuing to subscribe to their chosen option.

Personal Licences

Personal licences are not available.

Exceptions to the Terms and Conditions

Amendments to the Terms and Conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Online Resources:

  • Condition 1.1(a)(iii) is deleted and replaced by a new condition 1.1(a)(iii) which reads: For the avoidance of doubt, walk-in users are not Authorised Users.
  • Condition 1.1(a)(iv) is deleted and replaced by a new condition 1.1(a)(iv) which reads: Alumni member means a member of the Licensee’s formal alumni association. Alumni may access the Licensed Material on‐site or off‐site
  • Condition 2.2(m) is deleted.
