Details of the Prolifiko Chest Agreement on the Chest website.

First unveiled at the London Book Fair in 2019 and now available as a webinar exclusive to Chest members, this research sets out the pressures, blocks and barriers academic authors and researchers have to writing and publishing.

One of the largest ever studies of academic writing practice, covered in the LSE Impact Blog, Research Information and by The Guardian, attending this webinar will help you understand:

  • Where academics feel under the most stress and pressure in their careers to write
  • What tactics they use to find time and stay focused
  • How the most successful academics cope with and balance the daily pressures of writing, researching and teaching and,
  • what productivity technique the most effective academics use.

The research paints a picture of the different stages of an academic author’s career – from PhD to Full Professor and so, will be essential learning for librarians, faculty and researcher development staff wanting to gain a greater insight into the motivations, challenges and careers of academic authors.
