Check out the NAG Chest Agreement, renewed for a further five years.

First, NAG will present the NAG Prizes in Numerical Analysis based on performance in the Numerical Analysis related modules of the undergraduate mathematics degree at the University of Manchester. This year two recipients will receive £375 each.

Craig Lucas, Performance Engineering Manager at NAG, will give a brief overview of the work NAG does, how it collaborates with the University of Manchester and the skills and technical interests NAG looks for when it recruits its staff. He will talk about numerical computing and how it can go very wrong if we don’t fully understand it!

Eleni Vlachopoulou will then talk about her experience as a recent graduate working at NAG. She will show how the Numerical Analysis related modules taught in the department are directly relevant to her work. Eleni will describe how these, and the new skills she has learnt at NAG, mesh together to make her an accomplished Numerical Software Developer.
