Chest's Agreement with the IET for IET Inspec, IET Inspec Archive, IET Journals Archive and IET eBooks, expired 31 August 2021. These products are now available with effect from 1 September 2021 through a new Jisc Collections Agreement with the IET on Jisc's Licence Subscriptions Manager platform.

Licences are perpetual and may be purchased at any time during the period of the agreement. If choosing the subscription option, institutions must buy in time for payments to be complete by the end of the agreement.
From 1 May 2020 different rates of VAT apply to some eresources:
This Agreement is of 5 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period if purchasing in one instalment. If purchasing over 3 years they must join the agreement prior to the 31 August 2019. If purchasing over 5 years they must join the agreement prior to the 31 August 2017.

Higher and Further Education and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, and to Universities and Colleges of Further Education in the Republic of Ireland.
Other organisations aligned with Jisc’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Chest will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.
This agreement is the renewal of a former agreement that has been in place with the IET for more than 20 years.
Licensor: The Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Company incorporated by Royal Charter in England and Wales (company number RC000263), and registered as a Charity in England & Wales (no 211014) and Scotland (no SC038698), whose registered office is Savoy Place, London, WC2R 0BL.
Service Providers:
The Inspec Archive database is the digitised version of Science Abstracts journals, the precursor to the Inspec database. This is a comprehensive set of bibliographic records with enhanced indexing which pertain to peer reviewed global literature published between the years 1898 – 1968. Subject fields covered are physics, electrical engineering, electronics, computing and control engineering.

Therefore please read the terms and conditions carefully and only submit a Chest Order if its terms and conditions are acceptable to your institution, organisation or company and you have the authority to make the financial commitment shown.
This Site licence is subject to the terms and conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Online Resources.
On receipt of a completed Order, Institutions will be invoiced for the Agreement year in which the Licence is signed.
Chest is an Enterprise of Jisc. All Purchase orders must be made out to Jisc, 4 Portwall Lane, Bristol, BS1 6NB to cover all charges plus VAT.
All terms contained in a PO are expressly rejected and do not form part of the Licence or vary the Licence terms in any way.
Payments are due within thirty days of invoice date; recipients of late payments are entitled to interest in accordance with UK statutory provisions.

Sites signing on an annually renewed basis may opt out of the next licence period on the anniversary date by giving notice to Eduserv by 31 May preceding the next licence period which starts on 1 September.
Sites signing on 3 or 5 year renewed basis may opt out of the agreement on the anniversary date by giving notice to Eduserv by 31 May.
Personal licences are not available.

Pricing comprises two elements - the data fee for the content from the IET (tiered based on JISC bands) and a charge for service provision which will vary depending upon which platform you choose to access through.
