This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to the end of that period.

Eligible Institutions

Higher and Further Education and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, and to Universities and Colleges of Further Education in the Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with Eduserv’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Eduserv will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

Passport – available to HE and FE

Passport is Euromonitor’s premium research package which 80% of Europe’s leading business schools subscribe to. It supports teaching and research across a wide range of disciplines at both undergrad and post grad level.

The database holds statistics, country reports, global reports and company profiles for 27 industries across 210 countries as well as business and consumer lifestyles research for all the countries in the world. In addition Passport offers thousands of timely articles written by Euromonitor’s analysts and focuses on the impact and implication of breaking industry news as well as social, economic and political developments affecting consumers on both a national and global scale.

The database holds statistics and market analysis for 24 FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) industries across 80 core countries.

Passport provides students with the most complete and up-to-date picture of the economy and the different consumer and service markets in their country and worldwide enhancing not only their research opportunities but also their employability prospects as this is the same data used by their prospective employers.

Training and Training Materials

Each subscriber is assigned a personal account manager who can deliver online trainings to all authorised users. In addition there are ‘how-to’ videos located in the database than illustrate how to effectively use the system. Euromonitor also provides ‘how-to’ and ‘quick-start’ guides in Power Point and PDF format.

Terms and Conditions

The Chest Order, together with the Licence Terms and Conditions, and any exceptions listed below, create a legally binding contract between your institution, organisation or company and the Licensor. Therefore please read the terms and conditions carefully and only submit a Chest Order if its terms and conditions are acceptable to your institution, organisation or company and you have the authority to make the financial commitment shown.

This Site licence is subject to the terms and conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Online Resources with amendments shown at the bottom of this screen.

What can authorised users do?

The resources can be used for Educational Purposes – defined as:

  • education
  • teaching
  • distance learning
  • private study
  • academic research
  • administration and management of the Licensee’s educational or research operations

Exclusions: [Delete or amend as appropriate]

  • See the Licence for any exclusions and restrictions
  • The resources may not be used for anything other than Educational Purposes unless the Licence Extension for Commercial Projects has been bought; this allows use for the restricted “Commercial Projects” defined – see Annex B of the Licence (Licence Extension for Commercial Projects)
  • Downloading of large amounts of material by authorised users that might be considered ‘systematic’.

Termination Clauses

Subject to any Fee shown on the Website, the Licensee may retain an electronic copy of the Licensed Material in its archives for reference only. Copies of parts of the Licensed Material already made and/or used by the Licensee or Authorised Users in accordance with clause 2.2 may be retained and used in accordance with the terms of this Licence Agreement – see Licence Term 10.5.

Archive Rights
Upon termination of this Licence Agreement only copies of parts of the Licensed Material already made and/or used by the Licensee or Authorised Users in accordance with clause 2.2 may be retained and used in accordance with the terms of this Licence Agreement.

Opt out rights and notice period
The Licensee may terminate their annual subscription by giving at least 60 days written notice to the Licensor (Euromonitor) and Eduserv. Send notice via email to Chest Help not later than 31 January 2017 or 2018.

Personal Licences

Exceptions to the Terms and Conditions

Amendments to the Terms and Conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Online Resources.

Clauses 1.1(a)(iii) and 1.1(a)(iv) are deleted and replaced by a new clause 1.1(a)(iii) which reads: For the avoidance of doubt, alumni and walk‐in users are not Authorised Users; and Clause 2.2(m) is deleted.

Payment Terms

For institutions taking out a new licence or renewing licences under the Early Bird Option the initial term is from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017. Full payment of the Eduserv invoice for the initial term must be received by 15 December otherwise the institution will revert to the standard pricing. The full term for these Licences is until 31 March 2019.

For institutions renewing Licences after 15 December the initial term is from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017. The full term for these Licences is until 31 March 2019.

For institutions not previously licensed the initial term is from the Licence Commencement Date (upon signing) to the following 31 March. The full term for these Licences is until 31 March 2019. Eduserv will invoice Licensee on receipt of an Order.

In subsequent years, Institutions will be invoiced three months in advance of the anniversary date of the Agreement, on 1 January 2017 and 1 January 2018.

There is monthly pro-rata charging for Institutions which become licensed partway through a licence year.

Chest is an Enterprise of Jisc. All Purchase orders must be made out to JISC, One Castlepark, Tower Hill, Bristol, BS2 0JA

Payments are due within thirty days of invoice date; recipients of late payments are entitled to interest in accordance with UK statutory provisions.
