Site Licence.

Commitment Period

This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the Agreement period. They will then be committed to 3 years from the date of issue of the Licence even if this means the Licence will expire some time after the Agreement has ended. However, by giving Chest and the Licensor prior written notice by no later than three months in advance of the anniversary of the Licence Commencement Date shown on the Order the Licensee may terminate the Licence without cause on the anniversary of the Licence Commencement Date subsequent to the date by which notice is given.

Trial

30 day trials are available on application to Chest Help – the supplier will requires a contact name and email address to set up.

Eligible Institutions

Universities, colleges and other learning, educational and research bodies in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with JISC’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Chest will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

Product Description

COBRA comprises Cobweb's entire range of factsheets, start-up guides and sector reports, and their UK-wide business support directory.

A subscription to COBRA grants access to:

• a unique range of detailed start-up guides, sector updates and reports covering the practical trading and regulatory issues in around 600 small business trades and professions
• practical factsheets, checklists and how-to guides which cover several hundred business-specific regulations, local authority licensing rules and critical trading issues
• a comprehensive business support directory which provides details of over 3,000 national, regional and local business support and funding schemes, available from over 1,400 public, private and voluntary agencies in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

COBRA is the ideal reference source for business advisers and researchers to help them with:

• advising and supporting new business start ups
• due diligence research on small business trades and sectors
• writing and appraising business plans
• appraisal and risk analysis of loan and other applications for credit
• industry insights and market intelligence
• all round current business awareness
• sector-specific awareness and understanding
• helping jobseekers develop a career path in small business sectors.

COBRA is updated on a regular basis, with a considerable amount of the statutory information and compliance data being updated at least once a year. COBRA is updated more frequently if there are critical changes to regulations, statutory bodies or other time-critical factors that affect the content.

Updates

Content is updated continually, on a monthly schedule. Most content is fully updated within a two-year window.

A considerable amount of the statutory information and compliance data is updated at least once a year in line with the UK’s regulatory common commencement dates and Chancellors budget.

COBRA is also updated on a more frequent as-needs basis when there are critical changes to regulations, statutory bodies and other time-critical factors affecting individual sectors specifically and all businesses generally.

There are also regular COBRA updates and alerts published at the beginning, and in the middle of each month.  

Alterations/Additions

All additions and new functionality will be incorporated at no additional charge.

Cobweb delivers a range of on-site training sessions and business planning workshops, while webinars can also be arranged. Cobweb provides a variety of promotional materials to help universities promote COBRA to staff and students.
