Their tools are designed using specialised technology and scientific expertise to address challenges, support studies and accelerate research. Both the CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform and CAS BioFinder Discovery Platform are available to UK academic institutions through Chest.
Pricing for this new Agreement starting in October 2025 has now been sent to existing subscribers of SciFinder.
This is a non-standard Jisc Agreement on the Chest platform for CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform, with CAS BioFinder Discovery Platform available as an optional add-on. It represents a long-standing educational consortium offering where Jisc oversees and distributes institutional pricing but orders are placed directly with CAS.
Agreement start: 1 October 2025
Agreement end: 30 September 2028
Institutions may participate in the Agreement at any time during its life, but shall be bound by its Terms and Conditions, including payments, until 30 September 2028.

The terms and conditions under this licence are not Chest standard terms and conditions. Institutions are strongly advised to read CAS's Academic User Terms of Use carefully for both CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform and CAS BioFinder Discovery Platform.
Pay particular attention to use and security issues, with the main one that use of the products for commercial research requires a separate licence.
Jisc will provide participating institutions with Agreement information in confidence; it may not be disclosed or publicised to other people outside of Jisc degree-granting member institutions in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
