NVivo is software that supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It lets you collect, organise and analyse content from interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, audio and now, social media and web pages. The QSR NVivo Chest Agreement 2017 offers two elements, NVivo and NVivo for Teams (previously known as NVivo Server).
There are three levels of NVivo available, Starter (not available to HE), Pro, and Plus, each giving you additional functionality over the previous level.
NVivo Starter is simpler software for qualitative research, so you can spend your time finding insights, not learning software. Whether you're new to qualitative research or you need to analyze and understand text like interview transcripts, documents or articles, you'll be up and running quickly with NVivo Starter.
NVivo Pro supports the widest range of data sources. From text to surveys and social media, it offers advanced data management, query and visualization tools, so you can ask complex questions of your data.
NVivo Plus offers all the functionality of NVivo 11 Pro for Windows, plus, innovative social network analysis tools and research automation features. Visualize, analyze and understand social network structures. Let NVivo automatically discover emerging themes and sentiment in a matter of minutes. You'll find smarter insights faster with NVivo Plus.
Visit NVivo Products for more information on NVivo Starter, NVivo Pro and NVivo Plus.
NVivo for Teams allows you to combine the powerful analysis tools of NVivo 11 for Windows with NVivo for Teams to experience streamlined, secure research collaboration. Suited to teams of various sizes, NVivo for Teams is the ideal solution for complex research projects with larger volumes of data. Your team will make informed decisions faster with NVivo for Teams.
For more details see NVivo for Teams.

NVivo for Teams fees includes software maintenance and the number of Client Access Licences (CALs) required to connect with NVivo Desktop. An NVivo for Teams licence includes support to run the software in a Virtual Machine (VM) environment. It is a prerequisite of purchasing an NVivo for Teams licence that the Licensee must have already purchased, or purchase with the NVivo for Teams Licence, a Licence for NVivo Desktop Software.
Upgrading from NVivo Pro to NVivo Plus
If you decide to upgrade to NVivo Plus during the term of your licence then complete a new Chest Agreement Order Form ticking the ‘upgrade to NVivo Plus’ box. Your fee (the difference between NVivo Pro and Plus) will be pro-rated for the current year and in subsequent years you will be charged the new licence fee.
QSR are able to raise prices by up to 5% on an annual basis or upon the release of a new product version. However, this will ONLY impact on new sites joining after the price increases. Existing sites will continue to pay the pricing agreed at time of signing the licence form.
Eduserv will invoice Licensed Institutions for the initial fee on receipt of a completed Licence. Sites will then be invoiced annually three months in advance of the anniversary of their licence start date until the end of their chosen Licence/Commitment Period. All payments must be made to "Eduserv" within 30 calendar days of the date of invoice.
You are advised that because of the requirement for Eduserv to collect monies due before the anniversary date two charges may initially fall into one academic accounting year.
Start date: 1 July 2017 End date: 30 June 2022
Institutions will be committed to the licence for a three or five year period.
How to Order
One copy of the Chest Order Form and one Purchase Order made out to 'Eduserv' for the licence fee must be completed and returned:
