Other organisations aligned with Eduserv’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Eduserv will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

The Inspec Archive database is the digitised version of Science Abstracts journals, the precursor to the Inspec database. This is a comprehensive set of bibliographic records with enhanced indexing which pertain to peer reviewed global literature published between the years 1898 – 1968. Subject fields covered are physics, electrical engineering, electronics, computing and control engineering.

Alterations/Additions

All additions and new functionality to platforms will be incorporated at no additional charge

Improvements to the different interfaces may be made from time to time throughout the agreement and any additional functionality will be included without further charge.

Pricing and Ordering

Pricing

Pricing comprises two elements - the data fee for the content from the IET (tiered based on JISC bands) and a charge for service provision which will vary depending upon which platform you choose to access through.

Payment Terms

On receipt of a completed Order, Institutions will be invoiced for the Agreement year in which the Licence is signed.

All Purchase Orders must be made out to 'Eduserv' and Eduserv's invoices must be paid within 30 calendar days of the date of the invoice.

Agreement Period

Start date: 1 September 2016

End date: 31 August 2021

Institution Commitment Period

This Agreement is of 5 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period if purchasing in one installment. If purchasing over 3 years they must join the agreement prior to the 31 August 2019. If purchasing over 5 years they must join the agreement prior to the 31 August 2017.

  • administration and management of the Licensee’s educational or research operations

Exclusions

  • See Licence Term 3 for exclusions and restrictions
  • The resources may not be used for anything other than Educational Purposes unless the Licence Extension for Commercial Projects has been bought; this allows use for the restricted “Commercial Projects” defined – see Annex B of the Licence (Licence Extension for Commercial Projects)
  • Downloading of large amounts of material by authorised users that might be considered ‘systematic’.

Termination Clauses

The licence is purchased in perpetuity.
