Other organisations aligned with Eduserv’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Eduserv will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

Renewal of popular Brill eBook agreement. This agreement extends our existing eBooks agreement with BRILL to cover all their eBook content. It is designed to be scalable so that future years may be added, as and when, they become available for purchase.

One collection = one collection year (for example, Biology 2011 = one collection; Biology 2007/10 and Biology 2011 = two collections).

  • Order one or two collections using a single Order, the price shall be the above price less 15%.
  • Order three or four collections using a single Order, the price shall be the above price less 20%.
  • Order five or six collections using a single Order, the price shall be the above price less 25%.
  • Order seven or more collections using a single Order, the price shall be the above price less 30%.

We are aggregating orders from all sites to maximize the discount for all sites – please ask for details.

Payment Terms

On receipt of a completed Order Institutions will be invoiced for those products orders less the appropriate discount

There is no monthly pro-rata charging for Institutions which become licensed partway through a licence year.

All Purchase Orders must be made out to Eduserv and Eduserv's invoices must be paid within 30 calendar days of the date of the invoice. 

Please also note that before completing this Order you should carefully read the Products Specification and Schedule of Fees relating to this Licence Agreement, published on the Eduserv Chest website.

Agreement Period

Start date: 01 January 2016 End date: 31 December 2018

Institution Commitment Period

This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They are then licensed for their chosen products in perpetuity.

What can authorised users do?

The resources can be used for Educational Purposes:

  • education
  • teaching
  • distance learning
  • private study
  • academic research
  • administration and management of the Licensee’s educational or research operations

Exclusions

  • See Licence Term 3 for exclusions and restrictions
  • The resources may not be used for anything other than Educational Purposes
  • Downloading of large amounts of material by authorised users that might be considered ‘systematic’.

Termination Clauses

Material downloaded under the Agreement before its expiry may continue to be used under the same licence conditions as pertain while the Agreement exists. Once the Agreement has terminated then no further access to the service and to future publications will be possible unless the Agreement is renewed or extended. If the Agreement is renewed or extended then new conditions will apply. If the Agreement is not renewed then renewal is a matter between Institutions and Brill.

Product Documentation

'Brill Online hints and tips for librarians' may be freely copied by any Licensed Institution.

Copying of hardcopy and electronic documentation is permitted. A user may:

  • print a copy or download and save individual chapters, articles or other single items of the Products for personal use
  • distribute a copy of individual chapters, articles or other single items of the Products in print or electronic form to other Users or to other individual scholars collaborating with Users but only for the purposes of research and private study. For the avoidance of doubt, this Sub-clause shall include the distribution of a copy for teaching purposes to each individual student User in a class at the Licensee’s Site
  • download a copy of individual chapters, articles or other single items of the Products and share the same with Users or other individual scholars collaborating in a specific research project with such Users provided that it is held and accessible within a closed network that is not accessible to any person not directly involved in such collaboration and provided that it is deleted from such network immediately upon completion of the collaboration.
