David joined Eduserv in 2001. Previously, he obtained an MPhys in Physics at the University of Bath. Following this he worked for an IT company specialising in security and high integrity systems.
While at Eduserv, David has been involved with the design and development of the Athens identity management system. His development skills span a wide range, but with particular specialisms in Java/J2EE, C/C++ and PHP. He also has substantial experience working with XML technologies such as SOAP, WSDL and security-related standards such as SAML and XACML.
More recently David became technical architect for Eduserv Athens, and is responsible for the technical direction and evolution of the Athens system. This work is seeking to take advantage of the the latest open standards. He also regularly speaks on topics related to this work both nationally and internationally.
